Oulu.
Oulu is an innovative and stylish helmet that invites more cyclists to ride safer. It tackles two main problems; the lack of popularity of helmets and the importance of illumination and visibility specially in northern countries where the amount of daylight during winter is very little.
The helmet is made out of a one smooth surface with the main detail being the slowly offsetting surface towards the inside that starts in the side and rings all the way around to the other side. This offset, apart from being a style aspect, is combined to place the innovative illumination system in the back without breaking the aesthetics and continuity of the helmet. This includes a red light in the center as the main source of lighting and 2 side blinkers which work as indicators.
The user can tilt their head left to turn the left indicator on or viceversa, thus communicating to the car or cyclist behind their intended move in the next intersection, increasing the communication between the biker and their surroundings. The helmet also contains a luminous glowing strip all the way around the lower chamfer as a visibility ring to make sure other people can distinguishing where the head of the biker is.
